Konzerte in kleineren Städten um Tokio und Kyoto
55 Sänger*innen aus Weidenstetten und Ulm waren im Frühjahr 2006 als Chorgemeinschaft Ulm in Japan auf Konzerttournee rund um Tokio und Kyoto.
„Die Japaner lieben europäisches Liedgut“, sagte Hartmut Premendra Mayer († 2014) der damals sowohl den Männerchor Weidenstetten als auch den damaligen gemischten Chor Lehr (inzwischen aufgelöst) und den Chor Levantate dirigierte.
In Japan wurden die Musiker und Begleitpersonen teils privat, teils in Hotels untergebracht. Die Reise war eine Mischung aus Musik, Kultur und Kennenlernen. Der Reiseorganisator Satofumi Sugimoto, seinerzeit noch Musiker im Philharmonischen Orchester in Ulm und inzwischen im Ruhestand, hat die Kontakte möglich gemacht.

55 singers from Weidenstetten and Ulm travelled in the spring of 2006 as Chorgemeinschaft Ulm through Japan.
„Japanese people love European songs“, said Hartmut Premendra Mayer († 2014) who at the time directed the men’s choir Weidenstetten as well as the mixed choir Lehr and the choir Levantate.
In Japan the singers and accompanying persons were accommodated partly in families and partly in hotels.
The trip was a mixture of music, culture and getting to know each other. Mr. Satofumi Sugimoto, then still employed as a musician at the Philharmonic Orchestra in Ulm, now retired and living back home in Japan, did a great job in organizing the trip. Thanks to his contacts we all had a great time in a very inspiring country.
